 “Landscape painting epitomizes the creative impulse in one of its purest forms.” Joe M. Ruiz discovered art at an early age. This discovery has dominated his choices in life ever since. This autumn Joe will bring his landscape painting to the Garden in “Southern Tableau.” The Executive Director of the Oconee Cultural Arts Foundation in Watkinsville, Joe has lived in Georgia with his family since 2004. Ruiz primarily paints landscapes in the realist tradition and looks for opportunities to express his love for nature every day. He began painting landscapes when he lived along the California coast and has adapted his technique to the lush environment of Georgia and the Southeast. The paintings of Joe Ruiz give the impression of looking out a window onto an actual landscape.
